Must read

The National Orientation Agency, Oyo State Directorate, has partnered with the Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) to ensure a free and fair election in 2023 and to uphold the principle of issue-based campaigning ahead of the election.

This was made known during the advocacy visit to the agency yesterday at state headquarters in Ibadan.

The two agencies exchanged ideas on how to ensure free and fair elections in the country and promote democracy as it is enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution.

During the visit, the team lead of the commission, Mr. Jide Bamgbose, craved for the partnership of the agency as a vital stakeholder in the electioneering process and also pledged their support to the agency in its effort to improve the system through its planned sensitization program for the General Elections.

In his remark, the State Director, Mr. Kayode Odedokun, expressed the earnest interest of the Agency in collaborating with the Commission, noting that the Commission’s synergy with the Agency in the past has always been cordial and productive.

He also promised the head of the commission to do more to reduce the incidence of vote buying, apathy, violence, and hate speech, among other things that are bedeviling our electioneering process.
