The Oyo North Youth Association (ONYA) has announced its exclusive endorsement of Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun for leadership in the Oyo North Senatorial District.

The decision, which has been described as historic and groundbreaking, was made public following a unanimous resolution reached by the association’s leadership, representing all 13 local governments across the senatorial district, comprising 10 local governments from Oke Ogun and 3 from Ogbomoso.

The association stated unequivocally that it rejects all other candidates vying for the position, citing Hon. Abisodun’s exemplary leadership qualities, his proven track record of grassroots engagement, and his visionary approach to development as the basis for their support.

In a statement released by ONYA’s spokesperson, Mr. Babatunde Adediran, the youth group emphasized that the current political climate demands leaders who are deeply connected to the grassroots and capable of addressing the unique challenges facing the senatorial district.

“Our decision to support Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun is rooted in his commitment to youth empowerment, infrastructural development, and his unwavering dedication to uniting Oyo North. He represents the future we envision, a future where the needs of the people are prioritized above personal or partisan interests,” Adediran said.

He further highlighted that Abisodun’s candidacy aligns with the association’s vision for progress and inclusivity in governance, adding that the youth group has grown disillusioned with the performance of other candidates and their inability to deliver tangible results to the district.

The unanimous support from both Oke Ogun and Ogbomoso reflects a rare consensus in a region often characterized by political diversity. Leaders from the 10 local governments in Oke Ogun and the 3 from Ogbomoso emphasized the importance of unity in achieving sustainable development.

Speaking at a press conference held in Iseyin, Mr. Samuel Afolabi, a prominent youth leader from the region, expressed optimism about Abisodun’s candidacy.

“We are tired of empty promises and divisive politics. Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun has demonstrated his ability to bring people together and work across political lines to achieve meaningful progress in his federal constituency. This is the leadership Oyo North needs, and we are proud to stand behind him,” Afolabi said.

“Year after year, we have seen candidates make promises that never materialize. This time, we are taking a stand. Our support for Hon. Abisodun is not just about him as a person but about the values and vision he brings to the table,” said a youth leader from Ogbomoso, Mrs. Yetunde Adeoye.
