In a major political gathering that signaled renewed strength ahead of the 2027 general elections, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo North Senatorial District converged today at Abeje Hall, Saki, for a strategic meeting that brought together political heavyweights across the 13 local governments of Oke-Ogun.
The high-powered meeting was attended by top APC leaders, including Senator Fatai Omotayo Buhari, who represents the district at the National Assembly; Hon. Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem Were, representing Saki West, Saki East, and ATISBO Federal Constituency; and Hon. Mohammed Lateef Olaide, representing Irepo, Oorelope, and Olorunsogo Federal Constituency.
Also in attendance were notable party stalwarts such as former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, Hon. Moses Alake and several former local government chairmen from across the zone.
The meeting focused on party unity, strengthening grassroots structures, Power rotation to other regions and mobilization efforts toward the forthcoming 2027 elections. A key highlight of the event was the reading of a communiqué in which party leaders unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, pledging total commitment to ensuring APC’s success in Oyo State.
In his address, Hon. Tajudeen Were appreciated party members for their loyalty and sacrifices, assuring them that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu is yielding results. He reaffirmed his commitment to representing the interests of Oke-Ogun at the national level.
On his part, Senator Fatai Buhari briefed members on the timeline for upcoming party activities ahead of the APC national convention. He urged leaders across the senatorial district to intensify voter mobilization and ensure massive turnout during the next INEC voter registration exercise.
Hon. Mohammed Lateef Olaide also commended the efforts of party elders and emphasized the need for unity and collective action, stressing that only a united front could guarantee victory for the APC in future elections.
The meeting ended on a high note, with the leaders welcoming new defectors into the party and charging all members to remain steadfast, disciplined, and focused on the task of consolidating APC’s dominance in Oyo North and across Oyo State.
