The Head of Asabari Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ojo Kolade, has officially flagged off the grading of the 42-kilometer Saki-Ekokan Road. The project, expected to significantly ease the daily struggles faced by commuters, underscores the LCDA’s commitment to improving infrastructure and the quality of life for its citizens.
The event, which took place in the presence of key dignitaries, marked a significant step in addressing the longstanding challenges faced by residents and travelers who frequently use the road.
During the ceremony, Baale Ilua, Chief Omofoyewa Kilani, expressed his deep appreciation for Hon. Kolade’s leadership and unwavering commitment to the betterment of Asabari LCDA.
He commended the LCDA Head for his responsiveness to the community’s concerns and for taking swift action to address the hardships that residents have faced in various areas.
Chief Omofoyewa highlighted that under Hon. Kolade’s leadership, the Asabari LCDA has seen remarkable progress, particularly in terms of social amenities and infrastructure.
“No political head has taken such a decisive approach to the welfare of the people like Hon. Ojo Kolade has, he has shown tremendous dedication to ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and that their needs are met, and for this, we are truly grateful.”
Chief Omofoyewa also urged the local residents to support the contractors responsible for the road project while ensuring that they hold them accountable to deliver the project to the highest standard.
He emphasized that the successful completion of the road grading would not only benefit the immediate communities but would also contribute to regional development.
Representing the Okere of Sakiland, Oba Dr. Surv. Khalid Olabisi Ilugbemidepo Ayinla Ado II, High Chief Amos Olaoye, Bakoja of Saki, expressed gratitude to the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for empowering local councils to effectively execute developmental projects. He also praised Hon. Kolade for his dedication to the growth of Asabari LCDA and the wider Saki region.

In his response, Hon. Ojo Kolade extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his continued support in transforming the state and facilitating the provision of essential amenities.
He also acknowledged the collaboration of the local communities, which he emphasized has been crucial to the success of the project.
“This project is funded entirely from our own local government resources. It is not supported by external sources as the local government autonomy has yet to fully take effect. However, we are committed to ensuring that this project, like many others, contributes positively to the development of our area,” Hon. Kolade stated.
