The week long socio-cultural festival of Saki city, Beere Festival which is set to promote love, unity and Harmony within and among the residents of the community.
The festival feature series of activities which are dancing, music, culture, education and historic flashbacks.
The festival is unique in many ways starting from the life span of the engagement than cut across nine days with series of activities to cultural preservation which make her unique Nationwide.
This year festival sends great message to the world especially Nigeria where tribalism and ethnicity are taking center stage but Beere festival shows the beauty of diversity in culture and respect for each culture.
Hausa Community, Igbo Community, Ibaruba Community, Fulani Community and others was incorporate to the festival by organising a cultural competition among them.
The Igbo Community came third in the competition and leave the stage with undisclosed cash prize, Freelance and Independent Broadcaster of Nigeria (FIBAN) came second and Bobakeye Social Group came first through outstanding display of Yoruba culture with beautiful Aso Òkè, One that gives the event a colorful theme.
The Paramount Ruler of Saki Kingdom, Oba. Khalid Olabisi Ilugbemidepo described the event as one of a kind throughout the state and promise to maintain the uniqueness of it with different Innovations to be initiated to the festival.
In appreciating the efforts of Okere in preserving culture, the Olugbo Of Orílegbọn, HRM. Oba Francis Olusola Alao said Saki has proved beyond the reasonable doubt that Yoruba culture will not be perished and he promised to raise the bar of festival to the National Level by connecting the Committee of the Festival to the Director General of Art and culture in Abuja.
The Chairman, Saki West Local Government, Hon. Sarafadeen Omirinde appreciate everyone contributions to the success of the occasion and likewise give kudos to Okere of Sakiland.
In his words, Hon. Sarafadeen highlighted the gratitude received through this festival which serves as a means of socio-economic projection of Saki to the world. He acknowledged the support received from Oyo state Government under Engr. Seyi Makinde to elevate the culture and promote the festival to the world in a positive.
Special guests at the event include the Honorable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Bayo Lawal, who represented Governor Seyi Makinde, the wife of the Deputy Governor, Prof. (Mrs) Amdalat Olaniyan, members of the State House of Assembly, Oba Francis Olusola Alao, Onjo of Okeho, Oba Rafiu Mustapha, Alepata of Igboho, Oba Joel Olalere Olawuwo and Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal.
The Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Hon Niyi Adebisi, Commissioner for Women Affair, Alhaja Kafilat Omolabake Olayiwola and the Oyo State Chairman, Association of Local Government Chairmen (ALGON), Hon Sikiru Sanda were also present.
Others Chief Mrs Tina Ogundoyin, who was the Chairperson of the occasion, Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade who represented the Chairman of the occasion, Engr. Dotun Sanusi, the Chairman Oyo State House of Assembly Commission, Hon. Dr. Abdwasi Musa and the Chairman, Oyo State Rural Water and Sanitation Agency, Engr. Najeem Omirinde, among others.
The program features music, dance and dressing of different tribes to promote culture and adjudged the beauty of diversity in the country.
