Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on Friday signed the Oyo State Electricity Regulatory Bill into law.
Governor Makinde signed the bill into law at the Governor’s Office , Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan.
According to him, the law will enable Oyo State generate, transmit and distribute electricity within the State.
The State helmsman emphasized that Oyo state residents now have the authority to demand transparency and efficiency in power generation, distribution, and transmission from the state government.
He highlighted that this step exemplifies the workings of a true federating unit, reflecting a commitment to empowering local communities.
The signing ceremony was well-attended by prominent government officials, marking a pivotal moment for the state’s energy infrastructure and governance.
