BREAKING: Southern Governors Forum Elects Abiodun as Chairman, Soludo as Vice-Chair

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has been elected as the Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum, with Professor Charles Soludo of Anambra State chosen as Vice Chairman.

This decision was reached at the end of a meeting held at the Presidential Lodge in GRA Ibara, Abeokuta. Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State announced their emergence following the attendance of sixteen out of the seventeen governors constituting the forum; only Rivers State Governor, Similayi Fubara, was absent.

Some governors attended in person, while others were represented by their deputies.
Those present included Babajide Sanwoolu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Alex Otti (Abia), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Charles Soludo (Anambra), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), and Uno Eno (Akwa Ibom). Deputies Chinyere Ekomaru (Imo), Monday Onyeme (Delta), and Olayide Adelami (Ondo) also attended to represent their governors.

Governor Abiodun expressed gratitude for the honor and pledged to justify the confidence placed in him and Professor Soludo. He assured that detailed information from their deliberations would be shared through a communique to reflect the aspirations and commitments of the repositioned Southern Governors Forum.
