The long-standing legal battle over the chieftaincy title of Basapa of Saki has finally come to an end today the 25th Feb 2025. In a landmark judgment delivered today at the High Court Fiat 3 RingRoad Ibadan, Justice E.O. Olajide gave his judgement in favor of Rahman Adeleke Basapa, the Okere of Saki, and Saki West Local Government who are the Defendants in the case
The judgment puts to rest the prolonged dispute surrounding the prestigious Basapa chieftaincy title. Shortly after the judgement, Barrister Sarafadeen Onijo, counsel to Basapa and Saki West Local Government, expressed gratitude to Almighty God for the victory. He dedicated the success to the Almighty God and the entire good people of Saki, emphasizing that justice had been served.
Barrister Onijo also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Okere of Saki; HRM oba Khalid ilugbemidepo, the Exxutive chairman of Saki West Local Government Hon Gbenga Akinola, and Chief Rahman Adeleke Basapa on the well-deserved victory.
The judgment is expected to bring stability and unity to the Saki community and fostering peaceful coexistence.
