The Crescent Club of Saki has reaffirmed its dedication to humanitarian service and community development through its Annual Ramadan Lecture and Benevolence Program, a highly anticipated event that provided essential relief materials and financial assistance to 100 elderly and underprivileged individuals within the community.
Held at the Saki West Local Government Secretariat Mosque, the event served as both a spiritual and charitable gathering, bringing together Islamic scholars, community leaders, and beneficiaries to reflect on the values of generosity, compassion, and collective responsibility.
A key highlight of the event was an insightful lecture delivered by esteemed Islamic scholar, Barrister Nasirudeen Muslim, who expounded on the significance of generosity in Islam.
He emphasized that charity should not be viewed merely as an obligation but as a virtue deeply embedded in faith, urging individuals to foster a spirit of giving, even in times of personal hardship.
Barrister Muslim also commended the Crescent Club of Saki, led by Alhaji Khalid Adebayo Ajibade, for its unwavering commitment to uplifting the less privileged.
Acknowledging the club’s consistent efforts over the years, he advocated for the expansion of charitable activities beyond periodic donations, encouraging the organization to embark on long-term, sustainable projects that would create a lasting impact within the community.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Crescent Club of Saki, Alhaji Khalid Adebayo Ajibade, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful execution of the 2025 Ramadan Benevolence Program.
He reaffirmed the club’s mission to support the vulnerable, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, a time revered for spiritual reflection and acts of kindness.
Alhaji Ajibade detailed that 100 beneficiaries were carefully selected based on their needs and were provided with essential food supplies, including rice, beans, Semovita, vegetable oil, and financial aid to help sustain them during the fasting period.
He stressed that beyond material assistance, the initiative sought to instill hope and foster communal solidarity, reinforcing the values of Islamic charity.
