… Donates 1 Million For Infrastructural Development
In a passionate appeal to revive the dwindling state of education in Oke Ogun, the Oyo State Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Commerce and Cooperative, Hon. Niyi Adebisi, has called on community leaders, political figures, and stakeholders to prioritize grassroots education as a critical pathway to sustainable development.
Hon. Adebisi made the statement during the Valedictory Service of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society High School, Ago Aare, where he served as a the chairman of the occasion. Speaking before a gathering of students, staff, parents, and dignitaries, the Commissioner emphasized that the foundation of every thriving society rests on the quality of education at the local level.
“Community leaders, politicians, and well-meaning stakeholders must rise and take proactive steps to reshape the future of education in our region. What we do today will define the strength of our youth tomorrow,” he said.
He further urged philanthropists and individuals with the capacity to invest in education within their localities, stressing that improving educational facilities and creating a conducive learning environment should be a collective responsibility.
In a bold and commendable gesture, Hon. Adebisi donated the sum of ₦1 million to support infrastructural development at Ansar-Ud-Deen High School. He revealed that the donation was made to immortalized late Hon. Jacob Funmi Ogunmola (JFO), a respected son of Ago Aare and former Chairman of Atisbo Local Government, who was known for his unwavering support for educational causes. According to him, “If JFO were still alive, this school would not be struggling with these basic infrastructural challenges.”
Also present at the event was the Chairman of the Oyo State Pension Board, Hon. Abdrafiu Adekunle, who delivered a keynote address highlighting the indispensable role of education in building resilient communities and shaping the destinies of the next generation.
“Education is not just about certificates; it’s about equipping minds to transform societies. The future we dream of starts with how well we prepare our children today,” Hon. Adekunle stated.
Hon. Rafiu Adekunle has therefore compensated the overall winner of a special Yoruba Language competition which was presented as the popular Masoyinbo program, where a Fulani student surprisingly clinched the first position. Deeply impressed by the student’s outstanding performance and the symbolic value of cultural harmony, Hon. Adekunle generously paid the full fees for both the WAEC and NECO examinations of the winner.
To ensure no one was left behind, Hon. Niyi Adebisi also stepped in to support the second and third-place winners of the same competition. He covered the costs of their WAEC and NECO examinations, emphasizing the importance of rewarding effort and dedication in education.
The school management used the occasion to outline several pressing challenges, including dilapidated classrooms, poor learning facilities, and lack of access to modern teaching aids—issues that threaten the school’s ability to compete with others across the state.
Hon. Adebisi also took time to address parents, graduating students, and alumni of the institution. He encouraged them to form stronger ties with the school, both in financial and moral support, in order to raise the institution’s status to one that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with leading schools across Oke Ogun and beyond.
“Let us not leave the responsibility to government alone. It is our collective duty to support our schools so they can groom leaders and achievers,” he concluded.
