Farmers Cries Out Over Insecurity In Saki, Advocates For Supports From Royal Fathers in Oke-Ogun

In the agrarian community of Saki, located in the Oke-Ogun region of Oyo State, farmers have voiced growing concerns over rampant insecurity plaguing their livelihoods. Reports indicate a surge in criminal activities such as lose of lives, theft of crops and livestock, exacerbating the challenges already posed by erratic weather patterns and economic pressures.

Speaking on behalf of the farming community, representatives emphasized the urgent need for intervention from local authorities and security agencies to curb the escalating insecurity. They highlighted instances of armed banditry and vandalism of farm products, which have significantly impacted agricultural productivity and the economic stability of the region.

Farmers are now calling upon the traditional rulers and royal fathers of Oke-Ogun to lend their support and influence towards implementing effective security measures. They argue that collaboration between community leaders, law enforcement agencies, and governmental bodies is crucial to safeguarding their farms and restoring peace in the region.

The plight of farmers in Saki underscores broader challenges faced by rural communities across Nigeria, where insecurity threatens food security and economic development. In response to these pressing issues, the Okere of Sakiland, Oba (Dr.) Surv. Khalid Olabisi Ayinla Ado Ilugbemidepo ably represented by the Daoudu Okere appreciate the courage of the farmers association for not involving in any forms of attack but maintain a peaceful move by coming to the royal father.

Oba Olabisi however promise to take proper step to curb the atrocities in the land majorly those affecting the farmer which has been one of the way through which there is hike in price of every commodities these days.

In conclusion, the farmers association are therefore advised to remain peaceful and unite within themselves so as to be able to find lasting solution to all issues affecting.
