Femi Julius Confirmed as Chairman of Oyo State House Service Commission

The Oyo State House of Assembly has officially confirmed Hon. Femi Julius Okedoyin as the new Chairman of the House Service Commission, marking a pivotal step in state governance following Governor Seyi Makinde’s reconstitution of the commission’s board.

Governor Makinde’s nomination of Hon. Okedoyin for the chairmanship was formally communicated in a letter dated July 23, 2024, which was read on the floor of the House.

Alongside Okedoyin, the Governor also put forward nominations for other commissioners: Hon. Moses Olawuyi Ojoawo representing Oyo South Senatorial District as Commissioner 1, Hon. Olanrewaju Oladimeji representing Oyo North Senatorial District as Commissioner 2, Hon. Adekunle Iyanda Alabanla representing Oyo South Senatorial District as Commissioner 3, and Hon. Samson Bamidele Ojo representing Oyo Senatorial District as Commissioner 4.

During a plenary session held on Tuesday, the House unanimously endorsed all nominations, signaling bipartisan support for Governor Makinde’s selections. Lawmakers praised the Governor for his discernment in appointing Hon. Okedoyin, highlighting his extensive experience as a former lawmaker representing Saki West State Constituency. They noted that his legislative background and understanding of governance processes would greatly benefit the House Service Commission.

In his remarks, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, urged the newly appointed Chairman and commissioners to uphold professionalism and diligence in their duties. He emphasized the importance of the Commission in supporting the legislative arm of the government to achieve its goals effectively.

Hon. Femi Julius Okedoyin’s confirmation as Chairman of the House Service Commission represents a key milestone in enhancing administrative efficiency and service delivery within the Oyo State legislative framework. His leadership, alongside the appointed commissioners, is expected to strengthen the commission’s role in facilitating smooth operations and supporting the overall objectives of governance in the state.
