Retired Colonel Dr. Gbenga Adegbola, an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship hopeful in Oyo State, has concluded an extensive tour of party e-registration centres across Saki and its environs, reaffirming his commitment to grassroots mobilization and party consolidation ahead of the coming electoral cycle.
Dr. Adegbola wrapped up the exercise on Sunday in Saki West Local Government Area after earlier tours of Saki East and ATISBO Local Government Areas on Saturday. The tour covered all the eleven wards in Saki West, in addition to every ward previously visited in Saki East and ATISBO, underscoring what party observers described as one of the most comprehensive grassroots engagements by an aspirant in the Oke-Ogun axis in recent times.
The former military officer turned technocrat moved from one e-registration centre to another, interacting directly with party members, registration officials and prospective registrants.
At each stop, he emphasized the importance of mass participation in the APC e-registration exercise, urging eligible members and supporters to come out en masse to strengthen the party’s database and democratic structures.
According to him, a robust and inclusive registration process is critical to building a credible platform capable of delivering good governance and development to the people of Oyo State. He reiterated that political participation at the grassroots remains the foundation of effective representation and sustainable leadership.
Beyond the registration centres, Dr. Adegbola also paid courtesy visits to party faithful and key stakeholders across the local governments, checking on their wellbeing and exchanging views on party affairs, community needs and the broader political direction of the state. These engagements, stakeholders noted, further reinforced his image as a leader attentive to both political organization and human connection.
In a related development, the governorship hopeful visited Sangotedo, his community in Saki, where he held an interactive session with residents.
During the engagement, he appealed for unity, support and collective resolve, encouraging community members to rally behind “one of their own” in the forthcoming election. He stressed that inclusive leadership and community-driven development would remain central to his vision if given the opportunity to serve.
Party members and residents who spoke during the tour commended Dr. Adegbola’s hands-on approach, describing the visit as timely and motivating, particularly at a period when voter registration and internal party strengthening are considered crucial.
