Gov AbdulRasaq Commends President Tinubu as 38 Eruku Abducted Worshippers Regain Freedom

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), has announced the release of the 38 persons abducted during the recent attack on the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement released on Saturday, November 23, the Governor expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose hands-on, decisive intervention led to the safe rescue of all abducted individuals. The Governor noted that the President personally took charge of the situation and worked tirelessly to ensure the victims’ freedom.

Governor AbdulRazaq revealed that President Tinubu even cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 meeting in South Africa to attend to the security breaches in Kwara and Kebbi States, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the safety of Nigerians. The President also ordered enhanced security deployments to Kwara, reinforcing the rescue operations.

The Governor extended appreciation to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Intelligence Agency, and the Nigeria Police Force, which recently deployed four new tactical teams to Kwara on the President’s directive.

Governor AbdulRazaq further thanked security personnel on the field, community leaders, religious bodies, and the people of Kwara for their support, prayers, and resilience throughout the ordeal.

He described the victims’ safe return as a victory for collective effort, reaffirming the government’s determination to keep Kwara safe and secure for all.
