Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to social responsibility and community development, the Great Club of Oke Ogun has once again made significant donations to the Special Basic School, and the State Specialist Hospital in Saki.
The charitable initiative, aimed at alleviating the burdens faced by underprivileged groups, underscores the club’s dedication to fostering a culture of compassion and support within the region.
At a formal presentation ceremony, the Chairman of the Great Club of Oke Ogun, Alhaji Daud Aderogba, ANIPR, reaffirmed the club’s commitment to humanitarian efforts, emphasizing that assisting the less privileged remains a cornerstone of its mission.
According to him, the club has consistently engaged in philanthropic activities, with a promise to sustain and expand such interventions in the future.
As part of its outreach, the club donated essential food supplies to the Special Basic School, to support the nutritional well-being of students. Items presented included a bag of rice, two cartons of spaghetti, a carton of three-in-one Milo, and six cartons of noodles.
Alhaji Aderogba highlighted that the initiative was driven by a recognition of the school’s ongoing needs and the club’s desire to ease the administrative and financial burden on the institution.
Further extending its goodwill to the healthcare sector, the Great Club of Oke Ogun also made donations at the State Specialist Hospital in Saki.
Acknowledging the pivotal role of healthcare in community well-being, the club provided financial assistance to mothers of newborns admitted to the hospital. The initiative was aimed at offering immediate relief to families navigating the early stages of motherhood, especially those facing economic hardship.
Receiving the donations on behalf of their respective institutions, the Chief Medical Director of the State Specialist Hospital, Dr. Olawale K.O, and the Headteacher of the Special Basic School, Mrs. Adegbola Elizabeth Aderonke, expressed profound gratitude for the club’s generosity.
They lauded the gesture as a testament to the club’s unwavering dedication to societal progress and urged other organizations to emulate its efforts in supporting vulnerable communities.
The philanthropic exercise was attended by several notable figures within the club and the local government. Among the dignitaries present were the Vice Chairman of Saki West Local Government and Political Head of Wewe LCDA, Hon. Abdul Rahman Tiamiyu Oyedokun; the club’s Vice Chairman, Mr. Ajagbe Sunday; Secretary, Mr. Tijani Idris; Welfare Officer, Mr. Shittu Y.A.
