De-Janees Concept Limited, an indigenous energy solutions provider, has signed a landmark agreement with global energy infrastructure firm, Hexing Electrical Company Limited, for the construction and installation of a 10-megawatt (MW) solar hybrid power plant in the community.
The official signing ceremony, held on Friday in Lagos, marked a significant milestone in the state’s push toward decentralised and sustainable energy development. Engr. Isaiah Fatokun, Chief Executive Officer of De-Janees Concept Limited, described the collaboration as a “transformational step forward” for the over 4,000 households in Saki expected to benefit directly from the project’s initial phase.

“The first phase will deploy a 2MW solar solution through the Sango feeder, delivering clean and reliable energy to homes, schools, and businesses. We’re not just electrifying a town, we’re igniting economic opportunities, creating jobs, and empowering the next generation.” Fatokun said.
According to Fatokun, upon completion, the plant will enable Saki to enjoy an average of 22 hours of uninterrupted electricity daily. The community is also expected to be migrated to the ‘Band A’ service category of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), which guarantees premium power supply to customers with higher energy reliability.
Fatokun further disclosed that De-Janees Concept has secured franchise rights through a signed agreement with the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), allowing it to both generate and distribute electricity within the Saki jurisdiction. “This is a long-awaited relief for residents who have endured years of darkness and power insecurity. We are optimistic that by December 2025, we will deliver a fully operational system,” he said.
In his remarks, Mr. Simon Ye, Vice President of Hexing Electrical Company Limited, emphasized the company’s readiness and technological capacity to deliver on the project.
“We believe in the future of clean energy for Africa. Our commitment to the Saki project is unwavering. With the support of our partners and the resilience of the community, this initiative will stand as a model for energy transformation across rural Nigeria.”
The project aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewable Energy Master Plan and the National Electrification Strategy, both of which prioritize energy access in underserved regions through public-private partnerships.
Local stakeholders, including traditional rulers and community development associations in Saki, have lauded the project as timely and catalytic. Many believe that improved electricity will enhance agricultural processing, education, and healthcare delivery, thereby curbing rural-urban migration.
