Some gunmen on Thursday evening kidnapped a traditional ruler in Ikare Akoko, the Oniku of Iku, High Chief Mukaila Bello, as well as three other indigenes of the town.
The other victims are identified as Mr. Adeniran Adeyemo, who is a former House of Assembly candidate for the Akoko North-East constituency and APC chieftain, a community leader, Mr. Bashiru Adekile, and another chief in the community, Chief Gbafinro.
They were kidnapped along Ago Panu axis on the Owo-Ikare highway while traveling from Akure to Ikare.
According to reports, the driver of the vehicle conveying the victims was macheted by the gunmen and is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Owo.
The kidnappers were yet to contact the families of the victims at the time of filing this report.
