Hon. Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem has successfully facilitated a five-day training program focused on agro-processing and information and communication technology (ICT). The program, held at the Abeje Multi-Purpose Hall in Saki, welcomed 50 women and 100 youth from Saki West, Saki East, and Atisbo Federal Constituencies.
The event, which underscores Kareem’s commitment to enhancing the livelihoods of his constituents, featured hands-on training sessions designed to equip participants with essential skills in agro-processing techniques and ICT applications.
This initiative aims to address the rising demand for skilled labor in these sectors, thereby empowering participants to start their businesses or improve their employment prospects.
Hon. Kareem represented by Alhaji Thabit Olofa emphasized the importance of skills acquisition in his opening remarks, stating, “Empowering our women and youth is not just a responsibility, it’s a necessity for sustainable development in our communities. Through these programs, we aim to provide our constituents with the tools they need to thrive.”
This recent empowerment program is part of a broader strategy by Hon. Kareem to enhance socio-economic development within his constituency.
Over the past two months, he has spearheaded several initiatives, including Phone Repairing Workshop, Engaging 200 participants in skill-building for mobile device maintenance, Fish Farming Training, Offering insights to 100 participants on sustainable aquaculture practices, Distribution of grinding machines, Providing 140 grinding machines to local entrepreneurs to enhance food processing capabilities.
Also distribution of 700 bags of Fertilizer farmer to boost agricultural productivity, Mining Training which is set in Preparing participants for careers in the mining sector through specialized training and facilitating of two Solar-Powered Boreholes in Irawo (Atisbo Local Government) and Challenge (Saki West Local Government), ensuring access to clean water for local communities.
The comprehensive approach taken by Hon. Kareem reflects a commitment to addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by constituents, from unemployment to inadequate infrastructure.
Participants in the Agro-processing were been given start up fund and promise to supply their processing machine in no distance also ICT beneficiaries were empowered with Destop to kick start their business.
The participant expressed gratitude for the opportunity to enhance their skills and improve their livelihoods.
“This program has opened my eyes to new possibilities in agro-processing,” remarked one participant. “We have now been equipped to start our own business and contribute to our community’s economy.”
As the training sessions concluded, Hon. Kareem reiterated his dedication to continuing such programs and urged participants to make the most of the knowledge gained.
“This is just the beginning. I encourage you all to apply what you have learned and support one another as you embark on this journey of empowerment.”
