In a bid to boost sustainable income and service delivery in his constituency, Hon. Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem, the honorable member representing Saki West, Saki East, and ATISBO federal constituency, has facilitated a comprehensive empowerment program aimed at enhancing the skills of women in agro-processing. The program, held today at the Upper Kitchen Event Center in Saki, was supported by the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM) and focuses on ensuring that women in the agricultural value chain gain the tools necessary for long-term economic stability.
The initiative, implemented by Bidmusridgwells Investment Limited, is a part of Hon. Kareem’s broader agenda to uplift women and youths in his constituency by providing them with the skills needed to thrive in key economic sectors.
In addition to the agro-processing training, Hon. Kareem introduced an ICT Startup training program targeting both youth and women in the constituency. Supported by the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), this program aims to equip participants with essential skills in information technology, preparing them to launch and sustain tech-driven enterprises. The involvement of the NFC reflects its commitment to fostering digital literacy among the youth, particularly in using ICT for creative and entrepreneurial purposes.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Kareem represented by his media aide, Sheu Shittu Maigida, expressed his commitment to addressing the economic challenges in his constituency, stating, “Empowering women in agro-processing and training our youth in ICT, with the support of key institutions like NCAM and the Nigerian Film Corporation, will not only enhance service delivery but also create sustainable sources of income. These sectors are the future, and we must prepare our people to take full advantage of the opportunities.”
The partnership with NCAM ensures that participants in the agro-processing program receive practical, hands-on experience with modern agricultural technologies. Meanwhile, the ICT training provides participants with startup support, mentorship, and networking opportunities, guided by the expertise of the NFC.
