The House of Representatives has passed the Federal University of Agriculture, Okeho, Oyo State (Establishment) Bill (SB. 675) for further legislative processes after its second reading at today’s plenary session.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Julius Ihonvbere, seeks to establish a specialized university dedicated to agricultural education, research, and innovation to enhance food security and rural development in Nigeria. The plenary session was presided over by the Speaker of the House, who commended the initiative as a crucial step toward economic diversification.
