With the current situation of things in every part of Nigeria as a whole and in ways of finding possible solutions to every confrontation regarding the challenges facing the country, most of the citizen has been on their toes lamenting the problems in which most people are going through.
Oke-Ogun region comprises of ten local governments with each town, local government with their own natural resources contributing majorly to the economic value of the region. Some local governments are blessed with agricultural value, some with mineral resource while some are blessed with both.
With all resources available in the region, instead of the region progressing, the story is being of another thing, because people believe the region to be the food basket of Oyo state and many thought the region are not enjoying from what it’s been produce.
One of the stakeholder from the Saki, Prince Lawal Adebowale Ph.D in an interview with Korrectnews Media correspondent stated that most of the farmers and intending farmers are not allowed to practice their farming to produce sufficient farm products due to the insecurities and attacks from the Fulani herdsmen.
He also noted that most people engaging in farming are not intending to sacrifice their efforts in community development but instead, for profit making only.
Another Stakeholder from Iseyin , Adelodun Israel says categorically that the government are not helping simply because instead of helping the farming farmers, the government are supporting non practicing farmer and with that, there are no available resources to make their work profitable.
Emmanuel Adisa from Kishi share his own view on the issue narrating their confrontation regarding good motorable road to transport the harvest to the town and also the high cost farming materials before harvest.
Likewise, Hammed Adetunji from Sepeteri acknowledged that most farm products are no more coming from Oke-Ogun because most were exporting from neighboring countries sharing border with Nigeria from the west side of the region and not until we were able to go back to the farm again, things might not seem easy for a very long time.
Agriculture is far beyond occupation but a great means of survival to a country, region or community. Both the government and stakeholders should join hands together and find everlasting solution to the problem and calamity befalling Nigeria.
A group of concern youth from the region has therefore called on all royal fathers, political officeholder and the executive governor of Oyo State and President of Nigeria to as a matter of urgency find everlasting solution to the issues affecting the economy sector of the country.
