The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the schedule for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The announcement, made by JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, outlines critical timelines and details for candidates across Nigeria.

The sale of forms for the UTME will commence on January 31, 2025, and close on March 5, 2025, for all candidates. For direct entry (DE) candidates, the sale of application documents and e-PIN vending will begin on March 10, 2025, and end on April 7, 2025.

JAMB has scheduled the Mock-UTME for April 5, 2025, while the main UTME is set to take place from April 25, 2025, to May 5, 2025.

The cost structure for the registration process includes UTME/Direct Entry application fee: ₦3,500, Reading Text: ₦1,000, CBT Centre Registration Service Charge: ₦700, CBT Centre UTME Service Charge: ₦1,500, Mock UTME Service Charge: ₦1,500, Bank Charges: ₦500

Candidates registering for the UTME with a mock exam are expected to pay ₦8,200, while those opting for the UTME only will pay ₦7,200.

In a bid to support young and exceptional students, JAMB has introduced a special mock UTME exclusively for candidates below 16 years. This initiative is designed to help these candidates test their abilities in preparation for future exams. Professor Oloyede clarified that the mock UTME is not for admission purposes.

To qualify for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, candidates must be at least 16 years old on or before September 30, 2025. However, an exception has been made for highly gifted candidates below 15 years of age who achieve a minimum score of 280 in the UTME and perform exceptionally well in their Senior Secondary Certificate and post-UTME examinations.

Candidates and stakeholders are encouraged to visit the JAMB website for more information on registration guidelines and examination schedules.
