The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) has not yet begun. The board assured prospective candidates that details of the registration process will be disclosed in due time.
In a statement shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday, JAMB advised candidates to prepare by securing essential documentation, including a valid National Identification Number (NIN) and a unique phone number.
The advisory read, “You can get your NIN ahead and a phone number that has not been previously used to register on our platform to generate your profile code prior to the time.”
In a significant development, JAMB announced Kabir Alabi Garba’s The Lekki Headmaster as the recommended reading text for the 2025 UTME Use of English examination.
“Attention prospective 2025 UTME candidates! This is to inform you that The Lekki Headmaster by Kabir Alabi Garba has been approved as the reading text for the Use of English,” the board declared.
JAMB has instructed its personnel to update their profiles or register afresh as part of preparations for the upcoming examinations, highlighting the need for strict adherence to protocols to ensure a smooth examination process.
A bulletin dated January 13 reiterated the importance of compliance and transparency, promising further updates on registration procedures.
The board urged candidates to monitor official channels for the latest information, stating, “Candidates are advised to stay updated via JAMB’s official platforms.”
