The sudden death of House of Representatives candidate of the Accord Party and ex-chairman of ATISBO local government, Hon. Jacob Funmi Ogunmola, has been described as a gem loss to the political and humanitarian space of Oyo state in general.
In a condolence message released by Saki West House of Assembly candidate for the Social Democratic Party, Hon. Saheed Adesokan Adedayo described the politician as an embodiment of humanity and a game changer in the history of politics and humanitarian efforts in Old Ifedapo.
According to SP, “I commiserate with the family of Hon. Jacob Ogunmola and the entire people of Ifedapo because this is a great loss to all of us in Ifedapo; his humanitarian efforts in reducing poverty rates and providing basic social amenities for our people are a big vacuum that no one is going to fill for now.”
“Aside from that, his love for the zone is extraordinarily strong, and we must respect him for showing his commitment to serve people in a better way, but as destiny has it, we have lost an embodiment of humanity and a great democrat.”
He urged people to continue praying for the family to have the fortitude to bear the loss, and he urged the politician to take the exercise as a game rather than a do-or-die affair.
“If politics is a game, we shouldn’t be running after each other’s lives; we are brothers before politics, and we must be brothers in politics even with political differences; if we are out for the progress of our region, we must bring the principle of sportsmanship and love to the game.”
He admonished people to accept the will of God on the life of JFO and support his family in prayer in this trying time.
