In a renewed demonstration of political realignment, grassroots consolidation, and unwavering commitment to the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, the Honourable Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Investment and Cooperatives, Hon. Niyi Adebisi, on Sunday led a high-powered delegation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to a strategic engagement with members of the party in Wards 04 and 05, Ogbooro, Saki East Local Government Area.
The interactive meeting, which drew an impressive turnout of party faithful and community leaders, was particularly significant as it featured the participation of several former loyalists of the “Halleluyah” political group in Saki East who have now reaffirmed their allegiance to the PDP under the leadership of Governor Makinde. Their renewed commitment was described as a symbolic that further strengthens the PDP’s grassroots base and underscores its growing influence across Oke Ogun.
In his keynote address, Hon. Niyi Adebisi commended the courage and political foresight of the Halleluyah Loyalists members to stay with PDP, describing their decision as a step toward unity, progress, and the collective advancement of Saki East. He emphasized that their reintegration into the PDP fold was a testament to the party’s open-door policy, inclusiveness, and the trust inspired by Governor Makinde’s transformational governance across the state.
According to the commissioner, “The PDP remains a home for all progressives who genuinely desire good governance and people-centered leadership. The decision of our brothers and sisters—former Halleluyah loyalists—to stay and work for the success of the PDP is not only commendable but also a sign that our governor’s leadership has restored faith in purposeful governance.”
Hon. Adebisi reiterated the need for unity and discipline within the party, urging members to put aside past divisions and work together toward a stronger and more formidable political structure. He assured the gathering that the Oyo State Ministry of Trade, Cooperative, Investment, and Cooperatives will continue to roll out initiatives that empower traders, artisans, and small business owners across Oke Ogun.
In his address, Alh. Waheed Oluwakemi, the Special Adviser to the Governor, praised the reconciliatory spirit of the meeting, describing it as “a new dawn of political cooperation and inclusiveness in Saki East.” He noted that the decision of former Halleluyah loyalists marked the beginning of a new era of strengthened collaboration within the PDP.
Also speaking, Alh. Muda Balogun, the PDP Chairman of Saki East, lauded Hon. Adebisi’s leadership and his consistent efforts in ensuring that the PDP remains the dominant political force in the local government. He reaffirmed the readiness of the local party structure to work harmoniously with all returning members for the success of future electoral exercises.
Elder statesman Alh. Rabiu Owookola commended the gesture of reconciliation and urged all members to focus on the collective goal of promoting development, equity, and progress under the leadership of Governor Makinde.
The meeting featured extensive deliberations on grassroots mobilization, internal reconciliation, and developmental advocacy. Participants expressed optimism that the renewed collaboration among PDP members—both old and returning—would translate into greater political victories and continued support for the governor’s administration.
The session concluded with party members in Wards 04 and 05 unanimously pledged their unalloyed loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde and reaffirmed their total commitment to the ideals and principles of the Peoples Democratic Party in Saki East Local Government.
The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as attendees chanted solidarity songs and declared their readiness to work for the continuous success of the PDP in the zone, signaling a new phase of unity, inclusiveness, and political rejuvenation in Ogbooro.
