…Urges Constituents to Vote for Competence, Credibility and Capacity
The House of Representatives Candidate of Labour Party (LP) for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal constituency, Hon. Samuel Adeyemi Ogunlade (SAMLAD) has declared his full support for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial candidate, Engr. Seyi Makinde for the forth coming election.
Hon Samuel made this know in a press statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan.
“For the sake of emphasis and clarity, I Hon. Samuel Adeyemi Ogunlade (SAMLAD), and my entire followership base within and outside Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, hereby declare that our full and unreserved support in the March 18 Governorship election in Oyo state will be going to His Excellency Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde.”
SAMLAD stated that this is coming up after he has accessed the gubernatorial candidate of a political parties for the forthcoming election, and he noticed that Engr. Seyi Makinde is competent, Capacity, credibility and has a good character toward the good people of Oyo State.
“Personally, I have since then, been assessing all the main gubernatorial candidates of the other parties in Oyo State assessing them in terms of the 4Cs required in a leader I would support, I assessed them in terms of Character, Competence, Capacity and Credibility and after much thoughts, and consultation with the leadership of labour party within the state, I together with other leaders of the labour party in Oyo state have decided to give our full and unreserved support to the person that we believe stands way above others in our assessment. We cannot preach a different gospel when it seems not to favour the candidate of our party. Party loyalty cannot be put above public good.”
He furthered noted that “As I moved from place to place across the 42 wards of OKE-OGUN zone 1, I preached clearly that for me, I can only play politics of conscience, my choice to contest under the platform of labour party was mostly driven by my personal assessment of the presidential candidate of the labour party, H.E. Mr Peter Obi, his candidature was one I believe in wholeheartedly and can defend anywhere and anytime in terms of Character, competence, capacity, credibility,So much did I believe in these 4 parameters for leadership that I said multiple times on radio that if I ever found any candidate in Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal constituency who beats me in these 4 parameters, I will step down for them, as far as I am concerned Nigeria is too sick for us to put personal ambition ahead of public Good.”
Hon. Samuel concluded that there is no way for him to be campaigning for Labour Party governorship candidate when Engr. Seyi Makinde has all the qualities required to ruled the state.
