A Kano State Mobile Court has ordered the remand of 632 individuals in connection with the alleged vandalism of public and government properties during the recent #Endbadgovernance nationwide protest. The court’s decision came on Tuesday, August 6.
The defendants face multiple charges, including criminal conspiracy, theft, unlawful assembly, inciting disturbance, trespass, and mischief by fire.
The court session was overseen by Senior Magistrate Ibrahim Mansur-Yola, Senior Magistrate Hadiza Rabiu-Bello, and Chief Magistrate Abba Muttaka-Dandago.
State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Salisu Tahir presented evidence to the court, alleging that the accused were involved in the destruction of government and public properties on August 1 during the protest.
The court has adjourned the case until August 19 for further hearing.
