In another remarkable stride toward human capital development, Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun, the distinguished member representing Atisbo, Saki East, and Saki West Federal Constituency, has once again demonstrated his enduring commitment to education by empowering scores of students through his annual scholarship scheme.
This marks the third consecutive phase of the initiative, which has significantly impacted the academic pursuits of many indigent students within the constituency.
Represented by Alhaji Thabit Olofa, Hon. Abisodun reaffirmed that his motivation for sustaining the scholarship programme stems from a deep belief that education is the most sustainable tool for community transformation. He emphasized that the lawmaker’s core vision is to ensure that no student’s ambition is cut short due to financial constraints.
Olofa also revealed that Hon. Abisodun has continued to support numerous individuals and community projects quietly over the years, citing donations of cars, Hajj sponsorships, and various empowerment schemes. However, he noted that political realities now necessitate a measure of publicity to promote transparency and appreciation of his numerous interventions.
In a further show of generosity, Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun also donated the sum of ₦1 million to Independent Television (ITV) to enhance the station’s operational capacity and support its community-based media efforts. He also gave NURTW, Saki Branch head by Kazeem Iwo a sum of ₦5.5million naira.
The gesture was widely applauded as a testament to his support for local institutions and his vision of strengthening platforms that promote development-oriented communication in Oke-Ogun.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Tajudeen Okunlola, APC Chairman in Saki West, lauded Hon. Abisodun’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of his people, noting that his consistent empowerment initiatives have brought tangible improvements to countless lives.
Similarly, Hon. Salaudeen Akeem, APC Chairman in Saki East, highlighted the federal lawmaker’s contributions to both the party and the constituency’s development, describing him as a dependable pillar of progress. Alhaji Kareem Jimoh equally extolled Hon. Abisodun’s leadership style and his unrelenting investment in youth and educational growth.
The scholarship beneficiaries includes: Oyesiji Julianah, Ogunkunle Mariam, Ajayi Rokeebat, Abdul Rofiu Mujeeb, Onihunle Johnson, Tajudeen Fathia, Okesola Nafisat, Kareem Lateef, Sakariyahu Biliamin, Ibrahim Haleelullah, Rasaq Ibrahim, Adesope Abdul Mujeeb, Busari Islamdeen, Abdul Waheed Hasibunallah, Hazan Uthman, Oje Kade Lawrence, Ojo John, Adebayo Balikiss (PWD), Majeed Abiodun, and Tijani Basit.
The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude to Hon. Abisodun for his continued generosity and support toward their academic progress. Sakariyya Biliamin, a past beneficiary who has now completed his university education, described the scholarship as a “great bridge to success,” noting that the lawmaker’s consistent investment in education has enabled many young people to realize their dreams.
