Must read

The Kwara State Police Command has announced the dismissal and subsequent charging of three former officers, Abiodun Kayode, James Emmanuel, and Oni Philip, with criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide. These charges stem from the tragic death of Qoyum Abdulyekeen Ishola.

The three officers were arraigned in court on October 16, 2024, following an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ishola’s death. The court has ordered that they be remanded in prison custody as legal proceedings continue.

The details surrounding the case remain under investigation, but the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, emphasized the command’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring justice.

In a statement released to journalists in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, Ejire-Adeyemi underscored the importance of accountability within the police force.

“We take these allegations very seriously and will continue to cooperate with the judicial process to ensure that justice is served,” she stated. “The dismissal of the officers reflects our zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct within the ranks.”
