The Ilorin Emirate Community at Kwara State University has congratulated Dr. Rahman Oladimeji Mustapha Asunnara on his re-appointment as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences.

In a statement issued by the Acting Director of University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, Dr. Mustapha—an Associate Professor in the Department of Business and Entrepreneurship—was praised for his distinguished academic and professional profile. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Creative and Innovative Management of Nigeria, the State Coordinator of the same Institute, and a Fellow and Chairman of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, Ilorin Chapter.

His professional footprint extends further as a Fellow and Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management, as well as membership in the British Academy of Management, the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria, and the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered). He also serves as the ISMN Coordinator in Kwara State.

The statement noted that Dr. Mustapha’s accomplishments mirror a longstanding family tradition of scholarship. He hails from Ile Kewu Asunnara in Balogun Fulani District, one of Ilorin’s oldest centres of Islamic and Arabic learning. The community described his achievements as a continuation of this rich intellectual heritage. Today, he serves as the Mufasir for the Balogun Fulani District during Ramadan, sustaining a generational legacy.

Before joining academia, Dr. Mustapha built a successful career in the banking sector, holding several executive roles. His return to Ilorin marked a shift toward institution-building at KWASU, where he has since contributed significantly. His impact includes chairing the University’s Investment Advisory Unit and pioneering the establishment of the KWASU MBA Centre, which later evolved into the KWASU Business School in Ilorin.

The Ilorin Emirate Community expressed strong confidence in his leadership, noting that his re-appointment will further strengthen the faculty’s academic excellence and administrative progress.
