The Ilorin Emirate Community of Kwara State University has congratulated Professor Shehu Abdulganiyu Salau on his appointment as the pioneer Director of the Centre for Agricultural Sustainability and Transformation (CAST).
Professor Salau’s appointment took effect on 17 November 2025, following an approval letter issued by the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo W. Salle, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh.
The commendation comes barely a week after Salau was re-elected Chairman of ASUU-KWASU for a second term on 20 November 2025, an exercise witnessed by the Vice-Chancellor, who cast his vote in solidarity.
In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Dr. Abdullahi A. Bakare, the Ilorin Emirate Community praised Salau’s capacity to combine union leadership with administrative duties. The group noted his long record of handling major university roles—such as Sub-Dean, Head of Department, and member of key Senate committees—while serving in ASUU.
The community described Salau as a bridge-builder whose leadership fosters cohesion and trust across the university system. They added that his appointment reflects inclusive governance and a commitment to recognising excellence within the KWASU community.
The group also commended the Vice-Chancellor for what it called an open and inclusive leadership style that continues to strengthen internal harmony and widen opportunities for members of the university.
