Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has sent his warm wishes to the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Mawlid 2024.
In a statement released on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Governor Makinde expressed his congratulations to all Muslims celebrating the Mawlid.
Governor Makinde highlighted the significance of the Mawlid, which marks the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and is observed on the 12th day of the third month in the Islamic calendar.
He emphasized the importance of this festival as a time for Muslims to pray for the welfare of Oyo State, Nigeria, and its leadership at both state and national levels.
The governor encouraged Muslims to use this auspicious occasion to seek divine guidance and blessings for the country, reinforcing the spirit of unity and reflection that characterizes the Mawlid celebrations.
