Makinde Presents Staff of Office to Elempe of Tapa

Oyo state Governor Engr Seyi Makinde has called on traditional rulers in the seven towns that make up Ibarapaland to continue to live and work together in harmony for the development of the region.

The governor made the call in his message at the official coronation and presentation of staff of office to the Elempe of Tapa, Oba Sunday Titiloye at Tapa Community High School, Tapa, Ibarapa North Local Government.

Governor Makinde, represented by the deputy governor, Barr Bayo Lawal, noted that the palace is a sacred place that must be cherished.

The deputy governor also used the occasion to advise sons and daughters of Tapa to tap from the resources in the area to improve the town.

In his welcome address, the Commissioner for Local Govt and Chieftaincy matters, Ademola Ojo, said that the ceremonial presentation of the staff of office symbolizes wisdom, valor and unity bestowed upon His Royal Majesty, as well as the solemn duty of shepherding his people towards brighter and more prosperous future.

In his acceptance speech, the Elempe of Tapaland, Oba Sunday Oyekanmi Titiloye, said Tapaland under his watch will witness tremendous development, peace, and unparalleled growth.
