The Chairman of the Oyo State Pension Board, Hon. Adekunle Rafiu, has delivered a rousing message of hope, resilience, and unity to members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, commending Governor Seyi Makinde’s visionary leadership and calling for steadfastness as the party prepares for its forthcoming convention.
In a statement made available to Korrectnews correspondent in Ibadan on Monday, Hon. Rafiu lauded the transformative strides recorded in the state under Governor Makinde’s administration, describing the past six years as an era of “remarkable progress and people-oriented governance.”
He noted that the governor’s commitment to transparency, inclusive governance, and sustainable development has significantly improved key sectors, including education, infrastructure, health, and workers’ welfare, thereby reinforcing public confidence in the PDP-led government.
“Under Governor Seyi Makinde’s visionary leadership, Oyo State has witnessed remarkable progress and development over the past six years. His commitment to excellence and people-centric governance has yielded tangible results, inspiring hope and confidence in his administration. The achievements speak volumes, and we are optimistic about the future under his guidance,” Rafiu stated.
Hon. Rafiu emphasized that the current phase in the PDP’s political evolution requires unity, understanding, and collective focus. He urged party members to avoid distractions, remain committed to the ideals of the PDP, and sustain the confidence of the electorate through continuous service and loyalty to the state’s developmental agenda.
According to him, despite the challenges faced by the party at different levels, Oyo PDP remains solidly grounded in purpose and direction — a reflection of the inclusive leadership style of Governor Makinde and the resilience of its members.
“Let us stay united and focused, believing that better days are ahead. The party’s resurgence is already underway, and together, we will overcome current challenges. The forthcoming convention will proceed as planned and will mark a new chapter in our party’s journey,” he added.
Hon. Rafiu reaffirmed his faith in the PDP’s ability to consolidate its gains and sustain governance excellence in Oyo State, expressing confidence that the convention would further strengthen internal cohesion and set a renewed course for greater political stability and development.
He further encouraged party stakeholders and supporters to view the moment not as a test of division, but as an opportunity to reaffirm their collective resolve to uphold the party’s values and continue the legacy of transformation already established under Governor Makinde’s administration.
