A massive political realignment is unfolding in Oyo State as over 5,000 members of the Halleluyah Reform Political Movement in Saki West Local Government have officially announced their resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a show of solidarity with Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola (Halleluyah), who recently resigned his membership from the party.
The announcement was made during a special gathering held at Abeje Multipurpose Hall, Saki, where several prominent political figures, former officeholders, and loyalists of Senator Halleluyah gathered to formally declare their exits.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Sarafadeen Omirinde, former Chairman of Saki West Local Government, described the collective resignation as a “symbol of loyalty and solidarity” with Senator Halleluyah. He emphasized that the movement’s members have resolved to cease attending PDP meetings or activities, signaling a total withdrawal from the party’s structure in the area.
“Our leader has shown us the path of integrity and principle. Wherever Senator Halleluyah goes, we follow with loyalty and conviction,” Omirinde stated.
In his remarks, Hon. Lukman Adisa Adamawa, a former Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde, noted that the mass exit would have a profound political impact not only on Oyo State but on the PDP nationwide. He described Senator Halleluyah as “a political builder and bridge-maker who has invested years in grooming leaders, empowering communities, and stabilizing political structures across Nigeria.”
“This movement is not just about one man leaving a party; it is about thousands of genuine followers and builders realigning for purpose and future direction,” Adamawa declared.
Also speaking, Alhaji Yisau Awokesoro, a key member of the Halleluyah Reform Political Movement, appreciated all loyalists for maintaining unity and courage throughout the process. He opined that the mass resignation had signaled “the beginning of the PDP’s political decline in Oyo State and beyond.”
“The departure of this calibre of political actors marks a serious setback for the PDP’s grassroots strength. Our unity remains our greatest weapon,” he said.
Alhaji R. O. Muslim, former Commissioner for Works in Oyo State, urged members to remain patient and disciplined as they await Senator Halleluyah’s official declaration on the political direction to follow. He clarified that, contrary to circulating speculations, the movement has not joined any political party yet.
“We are not in APC or any other party as being rumored. We are waiting for the directive of our leader, Senator Halleluyah. When the time comes, we shall move collectively,” he affirmed.
Similarly, Hon. Olowookere Tawa, one of the local government executive members, appealed to members to remain steadfast in their loyalty and commitment to the ideals of Senator Halleluyah, describing him as “a beacon of political courage and consistency.”
The gathering, attended by notable political heavyweights including Alh. Ganiyu Alaga (former PDP Chairman), Alh. Mudashiru Awujoola, Alh. Makanjuola Jubril, Alh. Yekeen Owoade, Hon. Biyi Abiola, Tajudeen Ajagbe, Hon. Saliu Adelabu, Alh. Taiwo Damilola, Alh. Rafiu Damilola, Adebayo Philip, Hon. Isiaq Ikuogbogun, Alimi Olayiwola, Alh. Mukaila Lobalowo, Hon. Taofeeq Elege, Dauda Oke Eso, and Serifat Oloye, among others, demonstrated a united front and reaffirmed their allegiance to the leadership of Senator Halleluyah.
