The message of hope and optimism was rolled out by the Executive Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Hon. Sarafadeen Omirinde, as the new year began. The local government Chief Executive Officer has called on all Nigerians to take national unity as their core patriotic value and embrace one another for peace to be a known subject for the Country in the new year.
In a statement released by Saki West Local Government’s Head of Information, Alh. Dauda Aderogba, Omirinde noted that the country is on the brink of transition and nothing must be priority more than unity and peace because elections will come and go but Nigeria must remain.
“Congratulations to all Nigerians for witnessing the new year, the year of unity.”
“We must all embrace peace, especially this year because we are tilting toward elections, and we are Nigerian before elections and we must be after elections.”
“Our country must be known for peace this year as we are about to conduct one of the most important transitions in our history, and that exercise must be used to sell the good part of Nigeria to the world rather than the negative aspect.”
In accordance with the statement made earlier, he assured the people of Saki West local government and Oyo state that they would witness another set of good governance by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and also at the local level by him.
“I want to reassure you of good governance and the incomparable dividends of democracy in this year and beyond. Our government, through Engr. Seyi Makinde, is ready to make this year’s experience better than the earlier ones, and we at the local government will continue replicating what is happening at the state level by alleviating poverty and unemployment or completely eliminating them.”
Omirinde urged the people of Oyo State to be strategic in their efforts to elect a newleader in the months to come and committed to re-election of Gov. Seyi Makinde to continue the good governance he has started and for the state to remain setting the pace for development in the country.
