Nigeria Youth Futures Fund Hosts Town Hall Meeting for Grantees, Working Group, Community Members in Ibadan

The Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF) held a successful town hall meeting on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at BON Hotel in Ibadan, Oyo State. The event, which brought together grantees, working group members, community members, and key stakeholders, focused on sharing experiences, assessing the progress of the initiative, and exploring ways to enhance future projects aimed at empowering Nigerian youth.

Graced by notable dignitaries, including the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, and the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Ekiti State Government on Youth Development, who is also a board member of NYFF, the town hall provided a platform for discussions on youth development and good governance.

During the event, Kamal Afolabi, NYFF’s Grants and MERL Specialist, addressed attendees, offering an insightful briefing on the program’s achievements and ongoing efforts. He highlighted the impact NYFF has had on youth empowerment, emphasizing the initiative’s role in fostering leadership and entrepreneurship among young Nigerians.

In her speech, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke commended NYFF for its unwavering commitment to youth development, applauding the organization for taking a proactive role in advocating for good governance across the nation. She expressed her gratitude for the program’s contributions to advancing the capacity of Nigerian youth to lead positive change in their communities.

The SSA to the Ekiti State Government on Student Affairs, Modupe Adetiba who is also a member of the NYFF Board, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks on behalf of the board. She expressed her deep appreciation for the continued efforts of NYFF in empowering youth across Nigeria. “As both a board member and a representative of Ekiti State, I would like to extend my gratitude to NYFF for spearheading this remarkable initiative. Your commitment to nurturing the potential of our youth and your dedication to good governance is truly inspiring. We are proud to be part of this mission and look forward to strengthening our partnership in the future.”

The town hall meeting, which ran from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, served as an opportunity for grantees and community members to network, share experiences, and contribute ideas that would help shape the future of NYFF’s initiatives.

The event marked an important milestone in NYFF’s ongoing efforts to empower young Nigerians and build a brighter future for the country.
