The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Saki Branch, conducted a notable inauguration ceremony for its new executive members on August 9, 2024, at the Saki High Court Premises. The event marked a pivotal leadership transition and outlined the strategic direction for the upcoming year.
Outgoing Chairman Prince Adesoji Oyejare Oke began the proceedings with heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty for His guidance during his term. He reviewed the branch’s achievements and the challenges encountered, noting the steps taken to address these issues.
Prince Adesoji also acknowledged several influential supporters who significantly contributed to the association’s success. These included Chief Justice of Oyo State, Hon. Justice I. S. Yerima; Okere of Sakiland, Oba (Dr) Surv. Khalid Olabisi Ilugbemidepo; Bagii of Sakiland, High Chief Gasali Adegoke; Dr. Ahmed Raji SAN; Chief Niyi Akintola SAN; Colonel Gbenga Akinola (Rtd); and Alhaji Nafiu Busari, General Manager of FRCN Asabari 88.3FM.
In his address, Mr. A. H. Adejumobi, President of the Customary Court Grade A, extended his congratulations to the incoming executive and urged them to build on the robust foundation established by their predecessors. He stressed the importance of maintaining and advancing the association’s legacy.
Chief Magistrate Mrs. M. O. Adejumobi also provided counsel, urging the new administration to aim for the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, reflecting on the growing opportunities at advanced levels. She underscored the value of servanthood leadership with the statement, “Whoever wants to be great will be a servant.”
Stakeholders offered various words of encouragement, with the new executives pledging to honor their commitments and uphold the association’s standards.
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji K. A. Adegoke Esq. expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in the successful election of the new executive team. He called for unwavering support from all members, stakeholders, and the community at large.
Inspector Abdumumeen Jimba of the Saki Division Police Station concluded the event with a special prayer for the new administration, wishing them success and effective governance under the leadership of Alhaji K. A. Adegoke Esq.
