The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has declared its total support for Sen. Teslim Folarin and his deputy, Dr. Oluwafemi Okunlola, in the Oyo State gubernatorial election scheduled for March 11, 2023, saying they are headed in the right direction to transform the state for the better.
The declaration was made by the party chairman of SDP Saki West Mr.Titilope Alabi and the candidate of SDP for federal house of representative Arc. Bashiru Aremu Lawal (Bash) said that the endorsement of Sen. Folarin was in recognition of the commitment of his administration in achieving the goals of making Oyo State a better place, which the organization stands for.
He explained that the Party’s cardinal principles include better education, better security architecture, and the fight against poverty, hunger, ignorance, and disease, and that its decision to support the governor’s election was based on its agreement with him on common terms of sustainable development in the state.
He emphasized that the party’s (SDP) point of view on political conflict was ideological and principles-based, as it abhors temporary solutions to problems or personal benefits or rewards. As differences are being continually resolved, according to him, there is no reason for political confrontation but to declare total support for Sen. Teslim Folarin Kolawole.
He revealed that the party is already playing significant campaign roles for Sen. Folarin in the fields of voter education, canvassing for votes, and ensuring success at all levels.
The Chairman of APC Saki West Alhaji Tajudeen heartily welcome the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and appreciate the party for their full supoorts to ensure that Sen. Folarin emerged as the governor of Oyo State in the governorship election.
