The Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Hon. Sarafadeen Ahmed Omirinde, has congratulated the Christians on this year’s Easter celebrations.
He urged them to use the festive mood to pray for the nation ‘s sustainable peace and economic prosperity.
This was part of the congratulatory message released by the chairman to Christian faithful through the Head of Information Unit of the council, Alhaji Dauda Aderogba.
Omirinde enjoined righteousness, peace and endurance that the crucifixion of the Holy Jesus symbolized.
His words: “I congratulate my Christian brothers and sisters across the world on this year’s Good Friday and Easter celebrations, which is indeed a year to celebrate and return glory to Almighty God for loving us and never keeping us apart in our dear country, despite various or numerous challenges facing our nation.
He added that God has been wonderful to Nigeria for having a smooth electoral period with no record of religious violence, especially in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
The Chairman used the avenue to acknowledge the support of Christian brethren for the re-election of Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and other political office holders, saying that they put competency above religion and ethnicity.
Omirinde also enjoined the Christian leaders to continue praying for the country’s continuous peace and harmony.
“I am using this medium to urge the Christian leaders to continue praying for the country to have peace through which the nation can be greater as being envisaged or expected by all.
“In a diverse country like Nigeria, to have a peaceful country, individual must key into the vision of the country, and religious leaders are paramount to sustainability,” he said.
Omirinde charged religious leaders to pray for Governor Seyi Makinde’s success in his second term tagged: OMITUNTUN 2.0 and Oyo State at large to witness more good transformation under his leadership.
