The executive chairman of Saki West Local Government, Engr. Sarafadeen Omirinde, has called on Nigerians home and abroad to look beyond the problems facing the country and support her to achieve the dream earned by the founding fathers and past heroes whose lives gave birth to independence. He made this call in his independent day release through the Head of Information Unit, Saki West Local Government, Alh. Dauda Aderogba, which reads:

“On this auspicious occasion of Nigeria’s Independence Day, we gather to reflect upon our journey as a nation, to pay homage to the brave hearts who fought for our freedom, and to renew our commitment to a brighter future for our beloved country.”

“As we commemorate this historic day, I am reminded of the indomitable spirit of our past heroes—individuals like Obafemi Awolowo, Anthony Enahoro, Nnamdi Azikwe, and Tafawa Balewa—who, through unwavering determination and dedication, steered us towards liberation from British colonial rule. Their sacrifices and vision laid the foundation for the Nigeria we know today.”

“In these challenging times, I call upon every Nigerian to be steadfast and hopeful about the future of our great nation. Let us draw inspiration from our history and the legacies of those who fought for our independence. Let their courage and commitment serve as a beacon of light, guiding us towards a brighter tomorrow.”

“Omirinde sues for continued support from the people of Oyo State for Engr. Seyi Makinde, as it has the potential to make life better for people.

“I also wish to emphasise the importance of unity and support for our leaders at all levels of government. In Oyo State, we are fortunate to have an administration led by Engineer Seyi Makinde, a leader full of potential and a commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to all residents. It is our duty as citizens to stand by him, to support his vision, and to actively participate in the progress and development of our state.”

“As we celebrate this Independence Day, let us remember that the journey to a better Nigeria is one that requires collective effort, dedication, and resilience. Together, we can overcome the challenges we face and build a prosperous and harmonious nation for generations to come.

He prayed that God bless Nigeria and that the spirit of our founding fathers continue to guide us towards a brighter and more united future.
