In remembrance of the late Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleoso, a former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, over 1,000 residents across Oke-Ogun received free health insurance certificates at the State Hospital, Saki and upgrade the theatre facility of the hospital with donation of world class surgical equipments, during a memorial event held over the weekend.
The initiative, organized by the family member of the late stateman, and his political son, Oyo State Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Hon. Niyi Adebisi, in collaboration with the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA, also witnessed the registration of new beneficiaries under the state’s health insurance scheme.
As part of the activities, the modern theatre of the Saki Specialist Hospital was fully equipped and officially named after Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleoso in recognition of his contributions to the development of Oke-Ogun, Oyo State.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of OYSHIA, Dr. Olusola Akande commended the state government and Hon. Adebisi for sustaining the late Koleoso’s legacy through impactful social interventions.
Dignitaries at the event included, Dr. Yemi Koleosho, Mr. Tayo Koleosho, Hon. Mudasiru Eruobodo, Board Member, Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State; Hon. Rafiu Adekunle, Chairman, Oyo State Pension Board; Dr. Y.Y. Muslim; and the Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Olabisi Ilugbemidepo. Others were Hon. Salaudeen Soliu, Leader, Saki West Legislative Arm; and Hon. Salaudeen Kabeer, Majority Leader, Saki West Legislative Arm.
In his remarks, the President of the Saki Youth Development Council, Engr. Muritala Ilyas Okikiola, praised Hon. Adebisi for his effort in immortalizing Chief Koleoso, describing the late elder statesman as “a symbol of integrity, service, and humility whose life remains exemplary to everyone in SakiOyo State.”
