The Minister of Power, Hon. Waheed Adelabu Adebayo (Penkelemesi), has assured the people of Oke-Ogun zone in Oyo State of improved electricity supply as part of ongoing power infrastructural projects across the region.
Speaking during his consultation tour of Oke-Ogun Zone II, held at the Saki City Hall, Adelabu said his office is committed to ending the age-long challenge of epileptic power supply in the area.
According to him, work is currently ongoing on the construction of a new power line from Iseyin to Saki, alongside the development of the Saki substation, which is receiving top priority. He further disclosed that transformers have been delivered to boost supply, while similar projects are simultaneously ongoing in Kishi.
“These efforts are part of the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at improving the living conditions of our people and boosting economic activities across Oyo State and Nigeria at large,” Adelabu stated.
On party affairs, the Minister commended the massive turnout of APC members and urged them to embrace peace, unity, and reconciliation ahead of future elections. He encouraged all aggrieved members to forgive past grievances and work together to strengthen the APC in Oyo State.
“I urge everyone to forget the past and achieve lasting peace in our party. Since 2019, we ought to have resolved some internal issues, but now is the time. Let us unite to deliver President Tinubu in 2027 and ensure APC’s victory in Oyo State,” he said.
Adelabu, who also declared his intention to contest the Oyo State governorship election in 2027, appealed for the support of party members from the ward level to the general election.
In his reaction, Hon. Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem (Were),Member of the House of Representatives for Saki West, Saki East, and ATISBO Federal Constituency, praised the Minister for his commitment to Oke-Ogun’s development. He specifically highlighted the ongoing Iseyin–Saki power line project and Adelabu’s role in facilitating renewable energy supply to The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, which he said will greatly enhance learning and academic productivity.
The event was well attended by party leaders and faithful from across the six local governments that make up Oke-Ogun Zone II: Saki West, Saki East, ATISBO, Olorunsogo, Irepo, and Oorelope.
Party stakeholders present unanimously pledged their support for Adelabu’s 2027 governorship ambition.
