The Oyo State House of Assembly on Tuesday confirmed the nomination and reappointment of Mr. Kamoru Aderibigbe as Chairman of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, alongside four commissioners, to oversee the affairs of the commission.
The confirmation, which followed the adoption of the report of the Committee on Establishment and Training, was made during plenary presided over by Speaker Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.
Presenting the report, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Olalekan Abiola, explained that the nominees were rigorously assessed based on their Curriculum Vitae and proven track records in public service. He noted that their responses during the screening session demonstrated competence, administrative expertise, and a clear understanding of the responsibilities of the commission.
The confirmed members include Mr. Kolajo Isiaq Adewale (Commissioner I), Mr. Akanmu Olutoyin Adedeji (Commissioner II), Mr. Oladapo Oladimeji Olusegun (Commissioner III), and Mr. Taiwo Oluwagbemiro.
In a related development, the Assembly also confirmed the appointment of Mr. Musibau Adetunbi, SAN, Mr. Wahab Adedigba, Chief Joshua Abioye, and Mrs. Moyosore Ajani as members of the Oyo State Judicial Service Commission.
Presenting the committee’s findings, the Chairman, Committee on Public Petitions, Justice, and Judiciary, Hon. Abideen Ogundare, said the nominees were found appointable after a thorough screening process that examined their legal knowledge, professional integrity, and dedication to public service.
“Having carefully screened the nominees and being satisfied with their presentations, responses, and professional experience, the Committee hereby recommends pursuant to Section 198 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as altered), that their appointments be confirmed,” the report stated.
Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin commended both committees for their diligence and urged the new appointees to discharge their duties with fairness, accountability, and a commitment to strengthening governance in the state. He emphasized that the commissions play pivotal roles in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and justice in Oyo State’s civil and judicial systems.
