The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Ayodele Sonubi, has reaffirmed the commitment of the state police to safeguarding the lives and property of residents.

Speaking to newsmen during a briefing at the command headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, CP Sonubi highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance security across the state, particularly as the festive season approaches.

Sonubi explained that the police have initiated a stakeholders engagement forum, which began at the start of the ember months.

The forum, he noted, serves as a platform for improved communication between security agencies and the public, aimed at fostering collaboration in tackling crime and ensuring a peaceful environment for all.

“The importance of this engagement cannot be overstated, especially at this time of the year when criminal activities tend to increase. We must be more vigilant and proactive in addressing potential threats before they escalate,” CP Sonubi stated.

The police commissioner emphasized the need for heightened alertness from security operatives, particularly with the end-of-year festivities fast approaching.

He assured residents of the police’s readiness to respond swiftly and effectively to any security threats.

Sonubi also called on the public to assist the police in maintaining law and order by providing credible information.

“The role of the community in ensuring security cannot be overstated. We urge all residents to support our efforts by sharing relevant and timely information that can help prevent crimes and protect lives,” he said.
