The Oyo State Government has launched a vigorous campaign to combat noise pollution across the state, marking a significant step towards improving the quality of life for its residents.
At the inaugural quarterly meeting with religious leaders and hospitality industry stakeholders, Architect Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, the State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, emphasized the importance of this initiative.
He outlined the campaign’s goal to address the pervasive issue of noise pollution, which affects residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
Commissioner Mogbonjubola reported that the Ministry has received numerous petitions regarding noise disturbances from various sectors, including nightlife industries, religious centers, and artisans.
These complaints underscore the urgent need for action to restore tranquility in public spaces and private residences.
Highlighting the detrimental effects of noise pollution, Mogbonjubola stressed that it poses significant risks to both physical and mental health, potentially undermining productivity and overall well-being.
