In a bid to bolster agricultural development and economic growth, the Oyo State Government has unveiled ambitious plans for the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub located in Fasola Village, Oyo West Local Government Area. The government aims to position this hub as a benchmark for agricultural excellence across Nigeria.
Dr. Akande, the Executive Adviser to the State Governor on Agribusiness and Director-General of the State Agricultural Development Agency (OYSADA), affirmed the state’s commitment during a comprehensive facility tour accompanied by a delegation of agriculture and agribusiness experts. He emphasized that the revitalization of the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub signifies a strategic investment in enhancing the economic potential and viability of Oyo State.
The hub, Dr. Akande revealed, features a diverse range of facilities and infrastructure including agricultural processing units, extensive livestock and arable farming areas, a residential estate, and even a golf course. This integrated setup aims to foster agricultural production, processing, and community development within the region.
The visiting delegation, comprised of agricultural engineering expert Professor Adewunmi Taiwo, consultant policy researcher Dr. Olusade Taiwo, as well as agricultural specialists Mr. Segun Ilori and Mr. Paul Agada, lauded the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde for its foresight and implementation prowess in transforming the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub into a beacon of agricultural innovation.
Dr. Akande concluded by expressing confidence that the hub will not only serve as a hub of agricultural excellence in Oyo State but will also serve as a role model for other states in Nigeria, showcasing the potential for sustainable agricultural development and economic empowerment through strategic investment and infrastructure development.
