The Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Engr Sarafadeen Ahmed Ominrinde, on Thursday commissioned a motorized borehole with overhead tanks at 244 RECCE Battalion, Asabari Barracks, Saki, Oyo State.

Ominrinde, who doubles as the Vice Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in the state, was elated at the commissioning of the project.
According to him, the welfare of the people, as one of the cardinal programmes of the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, prompted the sinking of the motorized borehole with overhead tanks for the use of the Barrack’s community.
The chairman, also spoke about the support the local government gets from the barracks (officers and men) which ensures that the entire local government area is at peace. He then thanked the Commanding Officer, Col. I. S Shuaib, and other officers for their cooperation enjoyed so far and requested them to continue in lending their hands whenever their services is/are required.
His words: “The dedication of you and your men to the security of lives and properties in the LGA prompted my administration to reciprocate your gesture with the provision of this borehole facilities in order to cushion the effects of water shortage within the Barracks”
While appreciating His Excellency, the Governor of Oyo State, for facilitating the timely release of fund for the project, he assured the community of another solar powered borehole in due course.
While commending the efforts of both the State and Local Government in meeting the felt needs of the Barracks community, the Commanding Officer, Col. I. S Shuaib, appreciated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, for the erection of 10 KVA solar borehole in the barracks.
He was elated at the sinking of a borehole by the local government in his own tenure. He said the project would ameliorate water problem in the community.
Col. Shuaib, later in the commissioning programme presented, on behalf the barracks community an award of recognition to Engr. Omirinde to appreciate his love for the Barracks community.
The occasion was attended by dignitaries, including Leaders of the House, Hon. Quadri Fasasi, councilors, supervisors and political stalwarts.
The roll call of attendance also include the Head of Local Government Administration, Alh K. B. Kazeem, Heads of Departments, Unit heads, military personnel and other dignitaries.
