The Oyo State Police Command has announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with the possession of a fresh human skull, following a recent disturbing discovery in the Amuloko area of Ibadan, the state capital. The command’s spokesperson, Osifeso Adewale, confirmed the arrests via a WhatsApp message on Tuesday.
The arrests came after a viral video circulated online, showing a man identified only as Musa being apprehended by local residents. According to reports, Musa was seen carrying a sack that, upon inspection, contained a human skull. The unsettling discovery prompted immediate action from the community, who confronted Musa about his unusual behavior.
In a viral video which revealed the dramatic scene: “Man caught with a fresh human head earlier today in the Amuloko area of Ibadan. He has been handed over to the police.”
Musa reportedly admitted to being part of a syndicate involved in the illegal trade of human body parts. Following this confession, the police have launched a full investigation to uncover further details surrounding the crime.
Osifeso Adewale stated, “The case is under investigation. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident. More updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.”
This incident follows another recent case in the state, where the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun) arrested two men caught exhuming the head of a freshly buried corpse in Saki, Saki West Local Government Area. The suspects were apprehended by the security outfit during the act.
The Oyo State Police Command continues to investigate both incidents, aiming to address the disturbing trend and ensure justice for the victims.
