Motorists in the State are once again being urged to comply with traffic rules and regulations, as the State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) intensifies its enforcement efforts. Retired Major Adekoya Adesagba, Chairman of OYRTMA, emphasized this call for adherence in an interview with BCOS News.
Adesagba outlined the agency’s dedication to upholding road safety and addressing traffic violations, particularly focusing on the issue of indiscriminate parking.
“Our primary goal is to maintain order and sanity on the roads,” Adesagba stated.
He emphasized that while OYRTMA is committed to rigorous enforcement, road traffic discipline must be a shared responsibility among all motorists and road users.
The renewed call for compliance follows the recent enactment of a stringent regulation aimed at curbing road traffic infringements, indiscriminate parking, and street trading.
This new law, passed and signed into effect, signifies a decisive step towards improving road safety and order within the State.
